Nature and Culture

15 days, 14 nights

We have combined many of Thailand's highlights in this superb combination trip. Cultural visits to Bangkok, hill tribes in the Northern part of Thailand and a traditional home stay. In addition, we will visit several National Parks and have the opportunity to see wild elephants, gibbons and dusky langurs. On the last few days you can relax at your nature resort on the beautiful white sand beach in Dolphin Bay. You will stay in very comfortable hotels in Bangkok, Dolphin Bay and in the North of Thailand. All have hot water, air-conditioning and cable television. In the National Park and at the home stay, accommodation is basic but clean and the traditional and natural style make this a very pleasant stay. This program is suited for all ages.

Day 1
You will be picked up from the airport in Bangkok and we will escort you to your hotel in the city centre. Relax after the long flight and or take a wander around Bangkok in the afternoon or evening. Your guide and minivan will be available in case you want to go sightseeing.

Day 2
After breakfast we will visit the Grand Palace, which is one of Bangkok's most famous attractions. In the afternoon we will visit the ancient city just outside Bangkok. Here you will find numerous reproductions of palace halls, temples, stupas, stone sanctuaries and traditional houses from all regions of the country. We will return to the hotel at the end of the afternoon.

Day 3
Today we will take a trip to the ancient city of Ayuthaya, situated 70 kilometres outside Bangkok. Here you will find many beautiful ancient temples and ruins built about 600 years ago. Many years ago Ayuthaya used to be the capital of Thailand. We will return to the hotel at the end of the afternoon.

Day 4
In the morning we travel to Khao Yai National Park. On the way to the park, we have lunch and will visit the Haew Narok waterfall. When we arrive at the park, we will take you to the visitor's centre where information is available about Khao Yai's nature and wildlife. In the afternoon we will trek for 3 hours along the Nong Phakchi nature trail. We will search for gibbons and other wildlife, and look for footprints of the larger wild animals. In the meantime we can also enjoy the beautiful scenery and views that the area has to offer. After the trek along the trail, we will head back for dinner and have some time to relax at our nature lodge. Around 7.00 o'clock in the evening, we will open the world of nocturnal wildlife with a night safari, which will take approximately 1 hour.

Day 5
We wake up early in the morning while listening to the unique sound of the gibbons. After breakfast, the park officer will take you for a walk along the Mo Singto nature trail to watch white-handed Gibbons. This is a good opportunity to learn about their behaviour. Lunch will be taken in the forest. Early in the afternoon we will return to our nature lodge to relax. In the afternoon we will go for one more walk. Besides the gibbons, we may also see deer, squirrels, civet cats and many birds, for example the rare hornbill.

Day 6
