
Why not combine a relaxing stay at the beach with a few days

1. Khao Soke 4 days and
3 nights with Overnight Lake Trip
Khao Soke National Park is one of South East Asia's best preserved
habitats for tropical flora and fauna. The park covers an
area of about 645 km, with evergreen virgin jungle, waterfalls,
massive limestone cliffs and crystal clear rivers and streams.
Many species of protected wildlife live in the park including
elephants, gibbons, monkeys, tapir, birds of prey and wild
gaur. Strikingly beautiful Chio Larn Lake features spectacular
limestone karst rising out of the sparkling waters, it's a
part of the park that you won't want to miss.
DAY 1 Pick up from Phuket or other Southern Thailand
town, then travel north by air-conditioned car or mini-bus
to the Jungle Lodge at Khao Soke. After lunch, take a half-day
hike with a guide experienced in the lore and crafts of the
jungle. Walk through a rain forest criss-crossed with waterfalls
and streams. Observe the flora and fauna, and swim in a clear,
safe pool in the middle of the forest. Dinner at the Jungle
Lodge.
DAY 2 Overnight lake trip. After breakfast, leave
by mini-bus to Chio Larn Lake. Boat through a fairyland of
majestic limestone cliffs and caves. Swim in the lake, and
in the evening watch for large birds and animals emerging
to feed. Enjoy a picnic lunch and dinner on the lake.
DAY 3 Waking up in a raft house on the edge of the
lake, you may see various primates and other wildlife playing
in the forest on the shore. You will then have an opportunity
to walk through this habitat to which the animals fled as
Chio Larn Lake filled up.
DAY 4 Choose from optional hikes, kayak or tubing
trips on the river, or just relax in the beautiful setting
of the lodge. Depart anytime for Phuket or other destination
in the South.
Other options include:
* Day trip to the lake.
* Massage - indulge in an hour of traditional Thai massage.
* Tubing - float down the river on a tubing trip that takes
you through the forest.
* Camping in the jungle.
* Night safari for wildlife viewing.
* Elephant Trek - The trek lasts for two hours along a truly
beautiful rainforest track with time for a swim at a picturesque
waterfall along the way. We use a reputable camp with gentle
animals who are well cared for by the Mahouts.
2. Khao Soke 3 days and
2 nights with Hiking and Kayaking
DAY 1 Transfer to Khao Soke and half-day hike or inner
tubing on the river. Alternately, indulge in an hour of traditional
Thai massage and leisure time.
DAY 2 Full-day hike through a rain forest criss-crossed
with waterfalls and streams. Observe the flora and fauna,
and swim in a clear, safe pool in the middle of the forest.
Dinner at the Jungle Lodge.
DAY 3 After breakfast, take a half-day kayak trip
on the crystal-clear river before departing for your next
destination.
3. Krabi 5 days and 4
nights kayaking and snorkeling
DAY 1 Travel in an air conditioned van from Phuket
or other Southern Thailand town, and then take short boat
ride to Railei Beach. Overnight in a private bungalow.
DAY 2 At your leisure, you may swim off a perfect
beach, hike in the cliffs, observe wildlife, try batik-making,
or just hang out. Evening-time, take a kayak trip in the bay
to view the sunset.
DAY 3 A half-day boat trip by long-tailed boat takes
you exploring and snorkeling around the outlying islands,
all striking limestone karsts. Picnic on a deserted islet.
DAY 4 Leave after breakfast on a one hour boat trip
up the coast to an isolated spot where you board a sea kayak.
An experienced nature guide will lead through tranquil lagoons
flanked on both sides by vertical limestone cliffs.
DAY 5 Return by air-conditioned car to Phuket or your
next destination in South Thailand. Stop en route at Bok Koranee
park, Thailand's oldest national park, where a river emerges
from the mouth of a cave into a misty forest glen (optional).
4. Khao Soke 4 days and
3 nights in "Green Season" with canoe and day trip to lake
From June through November, some park walks are closed, but
you can float through this majestic landscape in a canoe or
inner tubes.
DAY 1 Pick up at any Southern Thailand town by air
conditioned car or mini-bus to the Jungle Lodge at Khao Soke.
After a delicious lunch and settling in to your room you have
the choice of relaxing at the Lodge or choosing from the following
activities: Half day hike - with a guide experienced in the
lore and crafts of the jungle. Walk through a rainforest crisscrossed
with waterfalls and steams and teeming with thick bamboo,
thorny rattan, pandanus and other tropical flora and fauna.
Plenty of opportunities to swim in the cool clear waters.
or River tubing - relax as you float down the Klong Sok River
in an inner tube. The easy pace is a wonderful way to view
the jungle scenery.
DAY 2 Without doubt Chieow Larn Lake is one of the
most strikingly beautiful places you'll ever visit. After
breakfast, drive to Chieow Larn Lake and board a longtail
boat for a truly spectacular journey (approx 40 mins) across
the lake, with its fairytale scenery, to the tranquil and
secluded floating rafthouses. After a delicious lunch at the
rafthouses you'll have time to spot some of the wildlife (including
a resident family of monkeys) or take a dip in the emerald
green water. We then head off on a 2-3 hour guided walk through
the jungle with a stop at a waterfall. Perhaps the weather
will favour a walk through Namtaloo Cave. After returning
to the rafthouses for a refreshing swim in the lake, we board
the boat again for the return journey to OJH, arriving just
in time for dinner.
DAY 3 After breakfast we head off to an elephant camp
approx 30 minutes drive from Our Jungle House. This is a reputable
camp with gentle animals who are well cared for by the Mahouts.
The trek lasts for two hours along a truly beautiful rainforest
track with time for a swim at a picturesque waterfall along
the way.
DAY 4 In the morning you have the option of doing
another rainforest hike or tubing trip on the river or just
relaxing in the beautiful setting of the lodge. Then indulge
in an hour of traditional Thai massage. Depart after lunch
for Phuket or other destinations in the South.
