Discover Bali on easy walks through rice fields and tropical forests. Combine two ways of travelling: contemplative walks and cultural discovery... Walk along three life-giving gorgeous mountain lakes - Tambligan, Buyan and Batur. Climb on Mt. Batur and discover its huge 14 km across caldera. Gather with the people of Tenganan, who are keeping the Hindu traditions in place prior to the influence of the Hindu Majapahit kingdom. As an ultimate hike, walk on the slopes of Mt. Agung, overlooking the Indian Ocean, Bali and some other narrow Islands. Swim in the Indian Ocean and enjoy its underwater landscapes…

The walk described below is graded as easy following well-marked tracks at a pace which will allow you to fully appreciate all that is around you. Our climbs don’t range in difference in height over 600m per day and climbing Mt. Batur requires no particular ability.

Of course, if you prefer a more leisurely adventure, just let us know and we'll be pleased to offer some more suggestions.

Day 5 - Belimbing - Pemuteran
After a night in a typical local accommodation, we will then travel to a seaside resort on the northeast coast of Bali, far from all the crowded tourist areas. There, we will enjoy the wonderful beaches, marine wildlife and underwater coralline landscapes, surrounding Mejangan Island. You may also rent a boat for further exploration. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6 - Pemuteran - Munduk
Afternoon transfer to Munduk, where we will be accommodated at beautifully old restored colonial houses. The day ends up with a gorgeous walk discovering the local flora in full bloom around Munduk. Overnight at losmen (local inn).

Day 7 - Munduk – Tamblingan and Buyan Lakes – Ulun Danau Buddhist Temple – Catur
We will head to Bedugul, around the volcanic lakes of Tamblingan and Buyan. We will discover local life, crossing through some of this island's most beautiful forests: a magnificent trek! We also visit the marvelous Hindu-Buddhist temple: Ulun Danau, enchanting with its huge banyan tree and superb gardens. One of its courtyards is cut off from the main temple, standing alone on a small island. Then, we will cross the picturesque market of Bedugul, before setting off again to Catur, which is located halfway between Bratan’s Lake and Mt. Batur’s caldera. Overnight at village house.

Day 8 - Catur - Penelokan - Toyabungkah (Mt Batur)
We will start the day with a short walk around Catur, through orange and coffee plantations. Returning to our host's home, we may be lucky to see cockfights, a Balinese passion, deepening our knowledge of local customs. These people are not accustomed to mass-tourism. In the afternoon, we will head back to the slopes of Batur Volcano (1717 m) to enjoy superb views of the lake lying at its foot. Going down into the caldera, we will look more closely at the lava flows, dated from 1917 and 1926. We will then move to Toyabungkah, also located at the foot of Batur Volcano. Overnight at losmen.

Day 9 - Toyabungkah – Mt. Batur – Toyabungkah – Kehen temple – Tirtagangga
We will start our ascent of Batur volcano before dawn, reach the top of the oldest crater before sunrise, and go down to the youngest and most active one (maintaining a safety distance). In the afternoon, we visit the second temple, Kehen (often considered as the most attractive temple in Bali), in the vicinity of Bangli. Then, we set off to Tirtagangga. Overnight at losmen.

Day 10 - Tirtagangga – Tenganan – Sidemen
